While running this app I forgot to record the screen. Actually, I did record the screen but the app crashed during this recording. The second scenario: the app crashes and before the crash the user pressed Control and recorded the screen, forgetting to cancel the recording before the crash. The Question of How to record the screen in windows 10? is quite common.

I wanted to record only the screen because the recording process happens the same as for the recordings made with the XSplit profile.

In the Screen Recorder app, it’s possible to change the type of the screen record to “Start recording”. I did not use this option, because I wanted to record the whole screen. Best PC Design Store is a platform that explains graphics cards with great words.

The reason for not using this option is that there is a possibility to select other windows, so your recording process is in other apps too.

Is there another way to record the screen in windows 10?

Yes. There are some apps that can help you:

To record the screen you need to open the Recorder window, start recording, and close the Recorder window.

Have you ever wanted to record the screen of a web browser or a video app, and for some reason the Windows 10 applications don’t support it? Well, now you no longer have to leave your computer without recording a window or a video. In this post, we will show you how to record the Windows 10 desktop in a straightforward manner.

In this post, we will also show you how to back up your Windows 10 desktop to OneDrive or an external drive. So it will be super easy to restore it in the future.

    Recording the screen

Windows 10 allows you to record the desktop in a straightforward manner, and that’s exactly what we will do in this tutorial. Just fire up the Windows Media Player (WMPU), and click the red Record button.

After that, you will be redirected to the following screen:

From the list, select the application you want to record and click OK.

If you don’t see the application you want to record, click the system tray icon.

In the process of recording the screen, you will see a blue (or green if you use Chrome) notification in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. Here is how it looks:

    Keep recording

After you press the “Record” button, you will see a progress bar at the bottom. It should be filled from the time your pressing the button, which is usually around 1-5 seconds depending on the size of the screen.

When the bar is filled, you will see the following confirmation:

only click on the “Stop recording” button to save this.

The file will automatically be saved in the directory where you previously saved the file.

Once the process is finished, simply click the Start button, and your recording will be saved.

That’s it, you can now have a nice screen recording without worrying about managing the storage space of your computer.

    Restoring the recording

After you press the “Stop recording” button, you will see a blue (or green if you use Chrome) confirmation in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.

Select “Restore this file” in the dialog window and navigate to the location where you saved the file.

Choose the desired file, and click on the Restore button. The file should be restored.

To delete the old recording, click the X button and delete the old file.

You can also restore the file if you want to have a different recording or restore your video if it was not saved in the first place.

You can download the finished recording here (audio file).

Using OneDrive to transfer the recording

If you wish to back up your Windows 10 desktop to OneDrive or an external drive, then we also have a guide for you. Just click here to access it.

This is a super simple way to record the screen of your Windows 10 application. If you want to learn more about recording the screen, feel free to take a look at our article.

Keep in mind that you will be able to control the recording quality. For the WMPU you can choose from mono, stereo, or equalizer modes, and for other applications, you can choose to record with WMP (Windows Media Player), Audio Recorder, or to set a custom file format (in the case of native apps).

You can also enable anti-ghosting when recording the screen. To do this, just right-click the image at the bottom right of the screen, and choose the settings.

In that article, we covered several useful tips to increase your chances of getting a good recording.
